StonePly Natural Stone Panels Stand Up To Another Hurricane With No Damage

Well, it happened again. Another StonePly job was hit by a hurricane and…nothing happened. Lots happened all around it, though. Trees were uprooted, roofs were lost or damaged, and a billion dollars in damage was done to the Bahamas and the U.S. coastline. The StonePly wall cladding on the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, however, was unscathed. Even when struck by flying limbs and debris, the stone panels were undamaged.

This marks the third significant hurricane to strike the resort in the past 11 years. The Atlantis consists of a 2,300-room casino resort, a water park, and the largest man-made marine aquarium in the world. In 2007, the resort underwent a $1 billion expansion, which included the Cove Atlantis condo-hotel.

StonePly’s Work With The Atlantis Resort

For this world-class resort inspired by the lost city of Atlantis, StonePly supplied luxurious natural stone cladding in 1997 and again in 2007.

During the second phase, more than 144,000 square feet of exterior stone cladding was fabricated and installed for the sections of the resort known as the Cove Atlantis and the Reef Atlantis. The customer chose StonePly panels because of their high-end appearance, their ease of installation, and their history of standing up to hurricanes and severe weather and sustaining little to no damage as a result.

StonePly Stands Up To Rigorous Laboratory Testing And Harsh Conditions In The Field

Capable of handling hurricane force winds, tornado force winds, large missile impacts, freeze thaw cycles, earthquakes, salt spray, moisture, and more, StonePly panels are stronger and more durable overall than traditional natural stone cladding. Objects and impacts that would shatter solid stone slabs simply bounce off StonePly stone panels! So the next time you need stone cladding for a new construction or renovation project, consider the one that has been tested and proven both in the laboratory and in the real world: StonePly.
