The University of California San Diego came to us with a unique problem. They wanted to match an existing building but did not want the complications of traditional stone settings. The building they were proposing was meant to be modular and they needed a cladding that could be removed and reattached easily.

StonePly’s solution was making a pre-panelized stone system that incorporated a “saw tooth” pattern to accommodate the unique joint pattern and avoid straight vertical lines. Kota Limestone was imported from India and shipped to StonePly’s plant in Greenville, Texas. StonePly was able to produce lightweight stone panels that were easy to install, incorporated interlocking ends, installed 6 times faster than traditional stone setting, and installation caused minimal interruption to the busy college campus.

For more information regarding this project please visit our website.
